The COVID-19 pandemic is highlighting the urgent need for simple yet vital tools that are easy to use and manufacture on an individual or local level.
The COVID HOOK is a versatile tool that will enable users to perform daily actions while minimising direct skin contact with shared surfaces (eg. door handles and doorbells, ATM keypads, public transport grab rails and hanging straps etc).
FUNCTIONALITY
With the following features, the ergonomic COVID HOOK is an „urban swiss army knife“ combining aesthetics and functionality:
- Light pocket-sized casing (length: 120 mm – width: 45mm – thickness: 14 mm)
- Exclusively 3D printed (no extra parts required)
- PETG material for good handling
- Hook deploys at the press of a button
- DIN standard width hook for public transport grab rails
- Clicking mechanism locks the hook into place
- Precision nib for pressing keys and switches
- Βottle-opener for everyday use
- Keychain hole to be fitted with a retractable reel or carabiner
The COVID HOOK can be worn on a belt loop, around one’s neck or simply carried in a pocket.
It is a durable alternative to its single-use counterparts, such as latex gloves, paper towels, tissues etc.
After each daily outing, the COVID HOOK can be put in the dishwasher at up to 70℃ (PETG).
